@Blinx + Andreasson

Well, we'll see. I heal only for fun nowadays so it won't affect myself and I can always leave the group in the middle of the fight.

edit>
@Rafi
Jeez, just look at how many players keep the trauma on the people. Most players keep forgetting this exists. IIRC in a WZ you have 15 % basic trauma and another 20 % on the top of it if the players are using the right buttons. Check how many healers healing themselves have the trauma on ;)

Just duel some good players as a healer on the flagship. And then imagine 2 such players are sitting on you in a wz with reduced healing :D

As a tank I never miss traumas, yet healers still manage to heal themselves.
Respect the CHAIN of command, for they will lead you to victory and "Through victory my CHAINS are broken!!".

@Dea "o you think that the current updates will end with the sniper?"

I think they will readjust one or two more specs but that could change if they want to save these adjustments to 5.4, in particular as they already stated an intention to change mercenary and operative healer as they already made changes to sorcs. It's really hard to say, but I guess they want as many changes as possible to be rolled out in 5.3 and then they can make minor adjustments to those based on metrics from 5.3-5.4 period.

Then again, 5.4 is going to contain a focus on utilities. so who knows.

As a tank your single target burst dps is low :) While such marauder can make a sorc very traumatized victim. Killing a sorc healer isn't hard, the problem is that many players think they DPS is good while it's mediocre at best. Look at all the people who meet enrage in FP.

@Andreasson
I think the same - they want to push as much as possible, that's why I would appreciate more updates so we can react in the discussion. Sure, they may(most probably will) ignore the reactions but without the info it's hard to see the bigger picture. I can see why they nerf merc/sniper, but I simply cannot see what will happen to other healers and the silence isn't a good sign.

Honestly, based on some info I really cannot say where I got it from, I would argue it's likely that Merc, as well as OP, will see a similar HPS nerf as Sorcs got recently. They looked at the numbers that these classes are performing and then back on how much damage that bosses deal, at some point they realised that the output HPS were quite a bit higher than the DTPS, even for Nightmare content.

Naturally, just Nightmare wouldn't be enough to trigger this type of nerf, but the constant complaining about overpowered healers in PvP (which imo is a fair point) just pushed it over the edge. Keith recently commented in a podcast/interview that he liked a game that provides a challenge, and I think we are seeing aspects of that.

Meh, let's use this instead of shoutbox.

So, first things first. Opeartives didn't receive the nerf neither mercenery healers. Everyone is still immortal in the PvP because fucking defensives that were supposed to be addressed with the August Patch. Ooopsie. Hey, and now they nerfed the DPS output of some classes(*cough* mercenary *cough*) folks survive even longer :)

Now, let's react to what I wrote today in the SB

Item rating on the character sheet and why's this wrong. Let's assume this number will be visible, because why the hell it wouldn't, everything else is clearly visible while inspecting the player.

So, I am NOT talking about the new gear gate. What I am talking is my history with this change. The last time I saw this happening was when The Division had some players playing it(me included). The developers though it would be fun to make things easier for players and make the gear rating visible. What happened you askeD? Well, when the group finder found you players to play with, there was a good chance they would kick you while the loading screen was happening because of the gear value. No one cared it was misleading number because, and here comes the best, back then in The Division item rating was flawed - the higher items could have been worse than lower rating. Either because the stats were the same OR because passive utilities on the items were shit. But you were kicked because you had to have item rating 150+(that was meta, not difficulty settings done by developers).

They were warned, they didn't listen and the outcry was astonishing.

Now the same shit is happening in SW:TOR. I know that many people here don't bother with GF, but if you've never seen "be geared for fast run" in /1 on fleet, then you need to come to the fleet for more than a minute :) Now these people will be able to see one random number that says nothing. How many 242+ tanks you've seen have wrong stat allocation and don't know how to tank? How many DPS players have 242+ gear and have low numbers? How many healers with 242+ cannot keep you alive with 2k DTPS? There are these players out there, believe me. But they won't get the kick, instead players with 230 token gear get kicked, because "fast run" sacrifice needs to be done :) Or new players, because the DPS checks are so insane in bolstered shit in this game.

But hey, I am the pessimist here, so I may be wrong. Maybe SW:TOR community is actually superb and this won't be happening. Same as sorcs don't wear tanking gear ^_^

(this is a picture from HM Athiss, yes, we hit many enrages on the bonus boss, I cannot see why)

I think the item rating is great, sure there are loads of players in 242+ that have no idea what they are doing and there are a few players who in ~230 could perform to the same level as others in full BiS. But there is no way to fairly adjust for that and at least this provides a decent "safety net" for harder flashpoints, for everything else there is still vote to kick as an option for underperforming players.

Regarding Operative and Mercenary healing nerfs, let's just say that looking at the sources we have, Bioware is likely going to cut their HPS in a similar way as they did with Sorcs.
